HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, FL – The Mission Inn Resort & Club hosts the Boys & Girls Clubs of Lake and Sumter Counties and their “Fore! The Kids Golf Tournament” Friday, May 21st. Golfers will take on the Gary Koch-designed “Las Colinas” knowing the tournament benefits local children.

Last year, more than 1,000 children benefitted from Boys and Girls Clubs programs. They emphasize three main areas: academic success, healthy lifestyles, and good character and citizenship.

MOUNT DORA -- Top business leaders in Lake County were honored Wednesday night before a crowd of 300 people during the 2010 Lake County Community Service Awards Annual Dinner hosted at Lake Receptions in Mount Dora.

Janice Jones greeted the attendees and honored guests as they arrived.

"This is people coming together to celebrate outstanding achievement and to have a good time," said Jones, staff assistant for the city of Eustis' finance department, who praised the annual awards as a showcase of great works by top leaders. "It shows what they are doing to give back to the community with programs and different things that they have done."

Jim Myers, executive director of the Lake County League of Cities, said the Lake County Community Service Awards has grown since its beginning in the late 1980s.
